‘2020 was an extraordinary year: our bank had to react to the unexpected economic situation induced by the pandemic effectively and very rapidly.’ – said Gergely Jákli about last year’s difficulties in an interview with Világgazdaság, the Hungarian daily newspaper.

The CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors at EXIM Hungary said that EXIM ended the year of 2020 with a record high lending portfolio exceeding HUF 1100 billion, out of which new loans accounted for HUF 467.5 billion with almost 1500 new credit agreements. The interview reveals that EXIM’s ECA product is the second most popular loan program launched within the framework of the Economy Protection Action Plan.

‘Moreover, we should not forget that EXIM not only provides financing to enterprises active in the export chain. In 2020 we also managed an export credit insurance portfolio worth of HUF 425 billion and we provided guarantee in the value of HUF 17 billion to secure the loans. The value of our capital investment portfolio was HUF 92 billion at the end of the year’ – said Gergely Jákli.
